PHOTOSHOP NOTE #4

move photo onto background using move tool
edit free transform: ctrl>t transforms the shape, hold down shift when using transform
zoom out if you can't see transform handles
when your done transforming click enter
brushes: left bracket smaller, right bracket bigger (square brackets)
use a hard brush around hard objects, hold down shift (zoom in)
to blend something, use soft brush with low opacity

to navigate: use grabber tool, navigation box, spacebar
default colours: black and white. click on small colour boxes to the left
invert a selection: ctrl>shift>i
to bring a selection back: ctrl click on the thumbnail
*remember to duplicate background layer

PHOTOSHOP NOTE #2

If you want to move several layers at the same time
shift select them, this will allow you to move them together.

If you want to edit the background layer
double click and rename it.

Shortcut to fill: alt>delete

deselect: ctrl>d

ctrl>click thumbnail in the layer

work tip: Name all layers! keep organized, slowly turn off all layers if you run into trouble to see where a mistake occurred.

HOW TO MAKE A DROP SHADOW!

1. use a text tool ( big T) , write out your name
2. write click on layer to rasterize it
3. drag type onto new layer icon to duplicate it (2 copies)
4. lock transparency (first icon of the four)
5. edit> fill > black
6. turn the lock off to blur
7. filter < blur < gaussion blur
8. reduce opacity
9. move shadow underneath layer

HOW TO MAKE A BLAPPLE!

To make a blapple:

1.use quick selection tool 
2.select the background (easier)
3.use polygonal glasso tool to select the stem
4.invert selection
5.click on layer adjustment (hue/saturation)

PHOTOSHOP NOTE #1

zooming in: spacebar+ctrl
zooming out: spacebar+ctrl+alt
to add to selection: hold down shift
to take out selection: hold down alt
to change colour: image, adjustments, then hue/saturation

drop shadow image
copy+paste with the move tool
to put image on different layer copy and paste
two images open: use move tool, drag image
to turn a layer on/off: click on "eye" icon
to blur image: go to filter menu, and select blur

to get a selection back: hold down control key (ctrl) and click on thumbnail on the layer.
